Securing Vulnerable Cyber-physical Systems

anomaly.png

Designing and monitoring resilient Cyber-physical Systems (CPS) has become a great challenge for researchers around the world as the number of components making up the CPS is continuously increasing. Since several critical infrastructural projects happen to be controlled through the lens of CPS security, anomaly detection problem happens to get the top priority to securing them against any malicious attacks or possibly unintentional faults. My research is aimed towards studying anomaly detection problem using the distributionally robust optimisation perspective to robustify the operation of CPSs against the unknown system uncertainty distributions. Future work will seek to learn the potentially destabilising unmodelled dynamics of CPS and combine them with the existing techniques to enable an end-to-end security for operating CPS in a safe manner.
